Speaker 1:

Welcome to episode 17 of give you a break. The podcast that is here to help you escape the chaos of the day through creative storytelling. I'm your host, Monique , your Scott award-winning author and lover of all things creative . And it is my hope that each time you listen and participate in the creative storytelling exercise, you feel rejuvenated, reconnected, and tapped into your creativity. We all have a creative side. We just need to take a moment and step away from the chaos or the busy-ness of just being busy of the day and sit down somewhere, slow down and tap into our creative talents. In this episode, you will hear from a few listeners who share their creative masterpiece, which are centered around the three words I gave last week. Chicken foolish car. First thing first, a quick. Thank you. Shout out to all the listeners who support me by sharing the podcasts on your social media platforms, providing some feedback, giving me a review on the podcast and who have purchased me a coffee. And I would appreciate it so much. All right. It's time for our laugh, your frown off. This is something that we do each week just to turn that frown upside down. And this is compliments of KP Moore , a gentlemen on Twitter, who always keeps everyone who follows him, cracking up with his joke several times a day. All right, here we go, pastor, you need to join the army of the Lord. Me. I'm already enlisted pastor, but I don't see you in church on Sundays. Me that's because I'm in the secret service. Oh my goodness. I hope that made you chuckle a little bit. That's what I'm here for to help you distress . Be creative, laugh a little live a little we're just too busy and too serious. And things are going on around us that just zap our energy. And I'm hoping that your time with me, we'll get you to inhale. Exhale. All right, let's get to our stories. Our first piece comes from Dr. Renee G in North Carolina. Have you ever sat back and reminisced about how, when you were young, how foolish you are driving your car 90 to 100 miles per hour, trying to prove that you are not chicken, not realizing the ramification of this action, death destruction, dismemberment. You feel like you are invincible and nothing would happen to you. You were young dumb, and never thought if you were stopped for a traffic violation, that the stock could be even more dangerous than the act itself. Something is truly wrong with this picture. Don't forget to pray that all will purge from this earth. Maybe then we can feel invincible again. Thank you, Dr. Renee in North Carolina for taking the time and submitting your story. Next, we will hear from our regular Jersey Joe in New Jersey, the first will be the last and the last will be the first don't fall into the fullest trap and always know your worth. Riding around your neighborhood in a funky, fresh new car. Doesn't always equate to you being a ghetto superstar from the other side, looking in you are viewed as a clown, eating fried chicken and watermelon as you pop up the sounds so take heat to these magical words and knowledge that are given to the be wise and meditate before you respond to me, because unlike the media who has to remain politically correct, if you send the wrong message, we will come for your neck as the hours in the sand glass. These are the days of our lives. Just remember, these are the taxes you pay when you're flossing and playing sight . Thank you, Jersey, Joe. You know, I appreciate you. You've been here from day one. Haven't missed a week and I appreciate everyone who also contributes when they can. So thank you again. Next we will hear from Latrice in Augusta, Georgia. Today, I have something to say to you. Please let us sit. By the way I keep a pen and pad in my car so I can write when the filling hits, it wasn't really that I was foolish or that I was a chicken. It's just that things were hard to face. I may not have worn the burden on my face, but I carried it in my heart as if it were, my duty kept myself away from most not because I was snooty, but like a child hurt by the ways of man who somehow reentered the womb of its mother. I hid myself in its love its protection. It was more so an automatic response, a normal response to an abnormal situation. Get after the re gestation, I pushed through the rebirth dear heart. I know what you are worth. You are worth my, my energy. You are worth the process. You deserve the same compassion that you extend to others. No less. You deserve love. And I will give it to you love so beautiful full of grace. So true. I will never again be so hard on you. Even as I push you to do your best, you are worthy of my all, nothing less, nothing less. I know that there have been times that we're full of stressing, but you alchemize it by extracting the lessons for, I have traveled many moons again, to find you with God's help though. You were never lost. Dear self. This is a letter to you. A love letter, former days, bittersweet. The ladder will be better bank you sister Latrice. I appreciate you coming through as always with something creative. Well, this has been a great week. I thank all the contributors for sneaking away from the day's routine. Just for five minutes to sit down and write in , engage in this fun off the cuff creative exercise, and then turn around and share it with the listeners. Thank you. And I appreciate it. I'm here every Wednesday at 7:00 PM. Eastern standard time, you can listen to the podcast by visiting, give you a break.com. All right . The words for this week are plant dream seeds. Again, that's plant dream seeds. The rules are simple. You hand-write or five minutes straight. You use all three words in the first paragraph and you don't go back and correct or edit your masterpiece again. Hand-write for five minutes straight, use all three words in the first paragraph, and don't go back and correct or edit your masterpiece. And if for some reason you have a physical limitation where you can't hand-write by all means, type it up and still send it in and you can submit it to stories@giveyouabreak.com that story's S T O R I E s@giveyouabreak.com and make sure it's legible so I can read it in that I receive it by Sunday evening, if possible, so I can comb through and get it all ready for our listeners. You may follow me on Twitter at creative Monique that's creative, Kate archi , a T I V E M O N I Q U E. Well , that does it for this week. It's a wrap. Thank you so much for participating
